“CereScan's unique functional brain imaging technology represents a major advance in brain analysis.”
Dr. David Perlmutter, MD FACN, ABIHM Medical Director of the Perlmutter Health Center Author of "The Better Brain Book"
CereScan is one of the country's leading providers of SPECT (Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography) brain imaging for patients and physicians.
Unlike an MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) or a CT (Computed Tomography) scan, which provides information about structural (anatomical) abnormalities in the brain, a SPECT scan provides information about how your brain is working. This is a very important distinction.
In many cases the brain’s structure may be normal, while the functioning is abnormal. How is a treating physician supposed to accurately know what is not working properly in your brain without looking?

We Help Diagnose Alzheimer’s, Dementia and Parkinson’s. Know For Sure.
Alzheimer's Disease and other Dementias
Approximately 5,400,000 people in the U.S. have Alzheimer's disease and it is projected that the number of people in the U.S. with Alzheimer's disease will triple by the year 2050. Early Detection is the key to effective treatment. CereScan's brain SPECT imaging is also able to differentiate between different types of dementia which is a very important distinction to make as the treatment and management of each type of dementia is different.
Parkinson’s disease is the second most common neurodegenerative disorder behind Alzheimer’s disease. Movement disorders like Parkinson’s disease often have similar symptoms but treatments can vary significantly. DaTscan provides physicians with a diagnostic tool to assist in timely diagnosis so that appropriate treatment can be delivered. Additionally, research reports false-positive rates between 20 - 30% which means that many patients who are currently being treated for Parkinson’s disease do not in fact have it.

SPECT and DaTscan Imaging have helped physicians and patients correctly diagnose a variety of mental health conditions.
